Gone Fishin'

We just returned from Kabinakagami Lake in northeastern Ontario, Canada, and it was an experience well worth documenting.  This was the second surprise trip of the year for me.  The first surprise trip was a trip to Israel, which would never have been possible without the generosity of the Philos Project.  The trip to Canada was also a generous gift, this time from a friend who has fished Kabinakagami Lake many times over the last few decades.

Rather than expatiate about the journey, why don't I show you some pictures...

The ride
Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse
A view of Mackinac Bridge
A closer view of the lighthouse

It's the 16th longest main span bridge in the world.
That's a long bridge.
I like lighthouses.
Entering the UP
Exiting the U.S.A.
You could probably find these bags in a lot of places, but these are authentic Canadian bags.
Here I am at Old Woman Bay.
Old Woman Bay is beautiful...
Almost as beautiful as Young Woman Bay, which is not shown in this picture.

Welcome to Scenic High Falls.

Watch out for flash floods.

The beautiful landscape is dotted with rivers, ponds, and lakes.

Welcome to Pine Portage 2016
I've got my license, and I'm ready to fish.
Off we go.
Look out fish.  Here we come.

Got one.  A walleye.
Ready for lunch

I like this one too.

Breathtakingly beautiful

Well, that gives you a glimpse of life on Kabinakagami Lake.  I hope you enjoyed it.  Thanks to Jim Condon for the good memories.
